Welcome to LaTeca, a web-based library management system for K–12 schools operated by LaTeca Hub LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using our platform LaTeca, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using our Service, you confirm that you are authorized by your school or district and that you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. User Accounts

a. Account Creation

Users must be registered by an authorized school administrator. Account types include: student, parent, teacher, librarian, school faculty, and school admin.

b. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for educational and lawful purposes. You may not:

  • Attempt to access another user's account
  • Disrupt or harm the Service or its users
  • Use the platform to share or distribute inappropriate content
  • Reverse engineer or copy any part of the Service without permission

4. Intellectual Property

All content and technology within the platform—including software, features, visual design, and proprietary assessments—are owned by LaTeca Hub LLC and protected by copyright and trademark laws.

5. Student Data and Privacy

We comply with all applicable laws regarding student data, including:

  • FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)
  • COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)
  • California Privacy Law

We do not sell, rent, or share student data for commercial purposes. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.

6. Platform Features and Updates

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features at any time. We will strive to provide advance notice of any major changes affecting service delivery.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for violations of these Terms or at the request of your school. Schools may also request removal or deactivation of user accounts at any time.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LaTeca Hub LLC is not liable for:

  • Any loss of data, interruption of service, or user error
  • Any damage resulting from unauthorized access
  • Any content viewed or actions taken by users within the platform

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LaTeca Hub LLC, its employees, and agents from any claims or liabilities resulting from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New York without regard to conflict of law principles.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The effective date will be updated at the top of this page.
